Lifestyle Change

Hello Readers! Hope some of you are considering this lifestyle change after reading my posts. The reaction to my posts from some of my readers has been really positive. Thank you for the support and I hope I can continue to help you all through this blog. So today we are going to be discussing some principles that will help you set your new lifestyle in motion.

Principle 1: Eat 5 to 6 small meals per day instead of having three big meals. This will not only help you in increasing your metabolism but also ameliorate your energy levels through the day. You will find yourself to be more energetic and more focussed to meet your deadlines. For those of you starting on a new job, may be a good start to meeting deadlines early and pleasing that boss of yours πŸ™‚ ahem, no pun intended haha!

Now some of you may ask me how you could space these 5-6 meals through the day. The answer is simple: eat every two-three hours. This doesn’t mean you reach out to the closest pop tart packet or a bag of chips. Stick to natural, wholesome foods. For instance, A yogurt parfait with fruit and granola is a good example for a snack or even a pre-workout snack.

Principle 2 : Drink half your body weight in ounces of water everyday. Everyone knows drinking tons of water has so many benefits. Some of them are listed below:

  • It helps in balancing your body fluids.
  • Helps in controlling calories.
  • Keeps your muscles energized.
  • Revitalizes your skin.
  • Helps your kidneys to get rid of body toxins.
  • It also helps in normal bowel function.

Water can be boring to drink all the time for some of those beverage lovers. So choose a beverage that’s natural and quenches your thirst. Lemon water is an example of such a beverage. It keeps you hydrated but at the same time helps in shedding body fats since lemon is an antioxidant (really high in Vitamin C).

Principle 3 : No Processed Foods, No Refined Foods & No Preservatives! The more fruits and vegetables you have, the better it is for your body. Try to stick with whole grains, legumes, lean proteins and dairy.

Principle 4: Prep your meals in advance so it disciplines your eating pattern until it gets inbuilt. Its proven to help!

Principle 5: Lastly, don’t buy junk at all when grocery shopping, if its not in the house you won’t have it at all!

These are the five principles that I think will help you to start changing your lifestyle for the better. Hope you enjoyed reading this post!

In my next post I will be focussing on breakfast: what’s best to kick start your day? πŸ™‚ Until, then happy reading and have a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to writing for you all on Monday!
